Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, and actress Dakota Johnson have been immersing themselves in India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage during their visit for Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres” tour. Following their record-breaking concert in Ahmedabad, where they performed before an audience of 1.34 lakh fans—the largest ever for a concert in India—the couple visited the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.
At the Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on January 13 and will conclude on February 26, 2025, Chris and Dakota were seen participating in the sacred ritual of taking a dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers. A fan named Bharat Chaudhary captured and shared a video of this moment on Instagram, which quickly went viral.
Prior to their visit to Prayagraj, the couple was spotted embracing Indian traditions in Mumbai. They visited the historic Babulnath Temple, where they offered prayers and interacted with temple priests. Chris was seen greeting the priests with a traditional namaste, while Dakota whispered a wish into the ear of Nandi’s idol, a customary practice in Hindu temples.
These spiritual excursions highlight the couple’s respect for and interest in India’s cultural and religious practices, adding a meaningful dimension to their tour in the country.
