Well-known criminal lawyer B.A. Aloor, who made headlines for defending some of Kerala’s most chilling accused, has passed away in Kochi. He was 67.
Aloor wasn’t just a lawyer—he was a full-blown character. Whether he was walking into court or into controversy, the man never did quiet.
You remember the Soumya case? Yep, he was the guy standing up for Govindachamy.
Jisha murder case? He took that one on too.
He lived in high-stakes drama—like a courtroom version of Johnny Depp in The Rum Diary.
But Aloor’s story wasn’t just filled with case files and courtrooms. There were some serious legal shadows too. In 2022, the Bar Council of Kerala slapped him with a show-cause notice for alleged misconduct during a gang rape trial.
In 2024? He was hit with two separate allegations—one under the POCSO Act and another for sexual harassment. He got bail and interim protection, but yeah, not exactly a chill year.
Through it all, the man never backed down. Even with a cloud of controversy hanging overhead, he showed up, suited up, and spoke up. That was Aloor.
