Neeraj Chopra Cancels Arshad Nadeem Invite — Says “not The Time” After Kashmir Attack

Whoa. The javelin champ just dropped a serious power move — and no, it’s not on the field.

Neeraj Chopra, India’s golden boy and the real-life Hercules of track and field, just officially pulled the plug on his invite to Pakistani rival Arshad Nadeem. Yep, the friendly sportsmanship moment we all thought was brewing? Shut down. And the reason is no joke.

According to reports, Neeraj was all set to welcome Arshad to India for the Neeraj Chopra Classic on May 24 — a javelin showdown fans were hyped about. But after a horrific terrorist attack in Kashmir left 26 innocent lives lost, Neeraj said: not now, not like this.

“It was just one athlete inviting another. Nothing political,” Neeraj told reporters.
“But after the recent tragedy… it’s not the right time.”

Can we get a slow clap? The guy knows when to throw a javelin, and when to step back with grace.

Insiders claim Arshad was never confirmed anyway — he’s prepping for the Asian Athletics Championships in South Korea. So no bad blood here. Just some real-world gravity weighing heavy on what was supposed to be a feel-good moment.

Still, this story had legs. Let’s not forget their Olympic bromance back in Tokyo. They went viral — like, Internet-break-level viral — with fans from both sides cheering on their post-match respect. It was pure sports magic. Like Rocky and Apollo, but with spears.

And hey, this isn’t a forever “no.” Neeraj’s said before he wants to host his international javelin crew at his home someday. So yeah, family BBQ with Nadeem could still happen down the road. But for now? Real life comes first.
