Bhubaneswar – A special screening of Naali Cha: The Taste of Life, a new web series directed by Snehasis Das, was held at the Odissi Research Centre here on Sunday. The six-episode web series will be available on The Naked Eye YouTube channel starting Sunday for the public.
The web series, set in rural Odisha where tradition and simplicity have long defined everyday life, shows a quiet revolution unfolding. The arrival of smartphones and widespread access to social media has brought changes to the fabric of village life, both visible and subtle. The story follows the lives of several villagers as they navigate the intersection of their day-to-day lives in this digital age.
The web series stars Abhisek Giri, Anubha Sourya, Gargi Mohanty, Somesh Mohanty, Himanshu, Shruti Subhashree, Dharitri Khandual, Prasanna Manjari Das, Pranab Prasanna Rath, Bhokraj Nayak, and others in key roles.
Talking with Orissa POST, Das said that the core of the story is set in a rural area, where life goes for a toss when changes start to occur, and how it affects the environment of the village.
Das, whose work often focuses on important social and environmental issues, said that he wanted to create something similar to Malgudi Days and decided to make a web series.
