Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s purse, containing $3,000 in cash, was stolen while she was dining at a popular restaurant in Washington, D.C., over the weekend, according to a person familiar with the incident. The incident is now being investigated by the US Secret Service.
Noem was eating at the Capital Burger with her family when she felt her grandson hit her leg. Moments later, she realized her purse was missing, according to the man, who was not authorized to speak publicly.

Surveillance footage reviewed by investigators showed a masked man stealing a purse and quickly exiting the restaurant, the person said. No arrest has been made.

She has posed for photos on horseback in the southern border region, accompanied federal agents during raids and delivered tough messages on immigration while appearing in the media.
He briefly touched on the incident of theft during the White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday, saying the matter is still under investigation.
