Varanasi Gang Rape Case New Twist: A shocking incident has come to light from Varanasi where a girl was allegedly gang-raped. The Varanasi police commissioner has not only constituted an SIT to probe the case but also stayed any further arrests. Also, the police say that if the allegations of gangrape are found to be false, then action is bound to be taken against the victim on the contrary.
The 19-year-old victim has accused 23 people of gang-raping her. The reason for this action of the police is that on Thursday, dozens of families of the accused reached the police commissioner’s office together and not only pleaded for justice, but also provided videos and photos of the suspicious activity of the victim to Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal. It is revealed that during the period of that incident, the girl is seen roaming around with the accused youths of her own free will.
During this time, the girl used Instagram a lot and uploaded many photos and videos. He said that he met the accused by chatting with them through Instagram chatbox. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his 50th visit to Varanasi, took cognizance of the matter as soon as he arrived at the airport and gave strict instructions.
Question marks are being raised over the gang-rape of a woman in Varanasi for a week as the victim’s mother has mentioned in her FIR at Lalpur-Pandeypur police station about the incident from March 29 to April 4, in which the girl was repeatedly taken from one place to another in an inebriated state and raped by the youth. During this time, neither did anyone see her nor did the young woman make any kind of protest while walking on the road.
However, it was alleged that the girl was pregnant. But now the video-photos have come out. One of the videos is from under the same Continental restaurant. In the video, which is being told on the third day of the girl’s disappearance, i.e. 31 April, the girl is seen with the three accused. It is likely that another accused is making the video.
After this, the girl has chatted with another accused working at Continental Cafe in the comment box of her Instagram and is telling to meet herself. This chat is also said to be of the same period. Apart from this, the girl herself has uploaded her photo on Instagram on April 2 and has also uploaded many photos and videos.
In such a situation, the question is bound to be raised that when the girl was being gang-raped, how for a week she was not only roaming around on her own but also making full use of social media. When the family members of the accused complained to Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal, he took cognizance of all these things and formed an SIT and stopped any further arrests before the report came.
He said that all the evidence has been given by the family, which is proving that between March 29 and April 4, the girl herself has uploaded her videos. During this time she is also seen in a cheerful posture on the ghats. Apart from this, she is also seen with her friends on a motorcycle.
The police commissioner said that as alleged in the FIR, the girl was a hostage and in an inebriated state, but nothing of that sort is visible. According to the family members, the girl was free during the entire period and if she wanted, she could have gone to her home and friends or even approached the police. Therefore, the family members of the accused say that the continuous rape incident is fake and the hostage case is also false.
According to the police commissioner, there is no injury or sign of struggle in the medical. An SIT has been formed to investigate the incident. In which a DCP, a lady IPS, an ACP, surveillance team, SOG team and investigating officer inspector have been kept and whatever points have been raised by the relatives of the accused will be investigated and all contradictions will also be investigated.
It is also alleged that the girl also chatted during the same period and also went to a friend’s house to eat Eid sevai. The police will investigate these points so that injustice is not done to anyone. He said that there are allegations against the girl that she refused to take the names of 3 people by getting some lure and money is also being demanded. SIT will investigate the matter. If an FIR has been lodged under an extortion racket to blackmail people, then definitely action will be taken against the girl or her family or others involved.
The girl’s medical report is normal, he said. He has no co-morbidities. The SIT has been given a month’s time to investigate and will give justice to all those innocent people who have gone to jail and will also give a closure report in the court. A total of 12 known and 11 unknown persons have been booked in the case. On the identity of the girl, 2 of the unknown have been sent to jail while 9 are still left.
In such a situation, the families of the accused are alleging that they are being threatened and demanded recovery. Therefore, only after the SIT investigation is complete, the arrest of an unknown person will be in a position to get sufficient evidence. At the same time, the lawyer of the accused also said that the lower court cannot grant bail on the basis of the sections imposed in this case. If they don’t try in the sessions court, they will approach the high court.
